HYBRID CONGRESS

General Information

Attendees

The congress welcomes professionals and students interested to enrich the knowledge, experiences and skills related to group psychotherapy, group process and group work.

The Pre-Congress

Within the frame of the IAGP orientation and the congress theme "Groups for the World," the pre-congress will be held for one day, one week before the congress. Different pre-congress courses will fit the two time zones in the east and the west parts of the world. The pre-congress activity will address young professionals who seek to learn the foundations of group psychotherapy, group work and group processes. The pre-congress courses/workshops will include didactic and experiential components from different approaches in the field of practice.

The Congress

The onsite congress will be held in Pescara, Italy. The online version will be held on a professional virtual/online platform where plenary sessions/keynote speeches, workshops, symposia, and other scientific, cultural and social activities will be offered to all participants.

The congress hybridity will include the following:

1. For online presenters:

a. They will be able to present a didactic part by sharing the presentation or giving lectures.
b. They can also interact with attendees, and do experiential work in the main room with all the attendees or in small groups (distributing the attendees on the zoom breakout rooms).

2. For online participants:

a. They will be able to attend all the online activities according to their preferences. However, in some of the congress activities the leaders determine a limited number, which may make some applicants unable to attend this specific activity. Earlier registrations will be given the priority.
b. They may have the opportunity to attend some of the Pescara activities such as the plenary sessions, or some symposia.

3. For Pescara presenters:

a. They will present their work in person (including didactic part and/or experiential parts.
b. Some of Pescara activities will be presented/shared online depending on the nature of the presentation (e.g., workshops with personal sharing will not be online) and the availability of technical facilities.

4. For Pescara participants:

a. As Pescara participants can choose to attend the online and/or the in-person parts of the congress, i.e., they will have the opportunity to attend any of the online activities (the in-person registration includes the online part of the congress).
b. They will be able to attend ALL congress activities according to their preferences. However, in some of the congress activities the leaders determine a limited number, which may make some applicants unable to attend this specific activity. Earlier registrations will be given the priority.

Information for participants in Pescara

Program

  • Sessions will be composed of in-person and online presenters throughout the congress program.
  • In-person presenters can join the online part from their own devices.
  • Selected presentations/events (e.g. congress opening, keynote speeches) from online presenters will be streamed on a large screen.
  • In case of online presentations, questions from participants in Pescara will be either asked loudly or written through the live Q&A tool from the mobile application.
  • All in-person attendees will have access to the online platform.

Instructions

  • Registration desk open on July 21 for pre-congress and congress participants.Schedule : 8h30 to 19h30 at the AURUM.
  • Badges will be collected at the registration desk at the venue
  • The congress organizers will follow the recommendations of the most recent health protocols. They will implement the necessary measures to ensure maximum safety for participants, in compliance with applicable local regulations.

The main measures planned include:
  • Reminder of barrier gestures at the entrances to the venues and in all spaces (signage).
  • Wearing a mask mandatory at the entrance of the venues and during the entire attendance to the event.
  • Protective screens installed on the Congress reception and registration desks and counters.
  • Hydroalcoholic gel terminals and dispensers at the entrances of the Venues, in all buildings, as well as in the conference rooms.
  • Enforcement of the distancing measures applicable to the different types of spaces: using 2/3 capacity in each room; 4 persons per table and one meter between tables for catering spaces.
  • Regular disinfection of the most utilized contact surfaces, especially in catering areas, conference rooms and stands.
  • Regulations will be updated according to the specific regulations in Pescara at the time of the congress.

Information for online participants

Program

  • Sessions will be composed of in-person and online presenters throughout the congress program.
  • Some presentations from on-site speakers will be streamed on the virtual platform.
  • The questions from online participants will be asked written through the live Q&A tool from the online virtual platform.
  • Sessions will run through Zoom app embedded in the online virtual platform, in the webinar and workshop format depending on the nature of the session.
  • Time zones:
    • Website program: program in the website shows 3 time zones: CEST, India and US Eastern time zones
    • Virtual platform: all participants will be able to select the time zone they are in and the system will adjust the daily program accordingly
  • Sessions will be recorded and available for all registered attendees for 1 month after the conference on the virtual platform.
  • You will have also the opportunity to visit the Virtual Exhibition, view the Poster gallery or simply connect with other attendees through the Meeting hub.
  • More details about hybrid groups, which will join the online platforms from their place will be introduced later.

Instructions

Opening of the virtual platform: 19 July at 10 AM (CET). All participants will gain access to the platform some days before the congress starts to get familiar with it.
